An easy loop walk through coastal heathland and forest then back along coastline with views to Great Taylor’s bay and back across the Channel to ‘mainland’ Tasmania
Track details
The start of the loop track is signposted at the Jetty Beach Campground, and the best views are provided by walking in a clockwise direction. Follow the trail heading south-west through forests and then tending north into more open coastal heathland with views south across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel towards Southport and Recherche Bay, where French Explorer Bruni D’Entrecasteaux set up a camp, made a garden, carried out scientific research, and had peaceful meetings with the region’s Aboriginal people. A turn right then departs the longer Labiillardiere Peninsula Circuit walk, heads east across the peninsula and then follows the Peninsula’s Eastern Coast under coastal Eucalypt forest, back to Jetty Beach.
